!9# Gore Vidal (Profile of a Writer) [VHS]
Gore Vidal is one of the most controversial American writers of our day. He has been a politician, novelist, playwright, and movie-maker, but above all, he is society's observer. In this presentation, he talks about his relatives-in-law, the Kennedys, as well as about some of his fellow writers. He calls Hemingway "a very bad man," Capote "a pathological liar," and Mailer "a little fat man." This provocative program also includes extracts from Vidal's movie Myra Breckinridge and dramatizations of highlights from his novel Creation.
